Bi-xenon (HID) uses an HID capsule with a shutter for high/low switching—familiar to install but slow to warm up and dependent on ballast complexity. Bi-LED builds high and low beam around LED sources, offering instant-on performance and easier integration with modern DRL designs, though it still requires proper optical engineering for a legal, clean beam. Bi-LED is the better default for new ODM programs, aftermarket lines with HID warm-up complaints, and projects needing multiple sizes from one supplier. Bi-xenon remains relevant for legacy housings and markets where HID kits are still common. Before placing a PO, verify beam photos on the exact model, switching method, connector definition, and batch-to-batch cutoff consistency—cheap LED projectors fail there first.
